Created Woman Magazine

Congratulations to Created Woman Magazine!

This month’s winner for Client of the Month is Heather Frierson of Created Woman Magazine, a magazine that focuses on fashion but also highlights family, health, fun and purposeful living. Heather began her ongoing relationship with BiGAUSTIN back in

2010 when she was in search of a good web designer and a friend suggested she call BiG for help. Created Woman had its debut in 2010 as an internet blog and in August of 2012 after building up an impressive international following of women representing 122 countries, Created Woman offered its first subscriptions for hard-copy magazines. Even from the beginning, Heather’s vision has always been to be able to use her magazine as a vehicle to help every woman “become the woman they were created to be, both inside and out.”

Heather has always had a passion for fashion, consequently her dream has always been to obtain a degree in Fashion Merchandising and then move to New York City to work as a buyer in the fashion industry. After earning her degree, Heather worked at Express and Saks Fifth Avenue as an Assistant Manager. While she enjoyed her work in the fashion industry, her experience revealed to her the uniqueness and

beauty of every woman. After a few years of living out her dream, she realized she had the opportunity to do something greater –help others simultaneously! It was at that moment that she began formulating the concept of the Created Woman blog/magazine. It would be a platform for women to discover their identities, and share their life’s stories and experiences as they encouraged others to do the same. The Created Woman Magazine has evolved from a small blog to a community for women to gather and share ideas about life, spirituality, health and fashion. Her staff of regular authors consists of 11 women from Texas, California, Washington D.C. and Florida so “no matter where you live, anyone can pick up the magazine and it will still be relevant,” says Heather. Created Woman Magazine is also open to all people who want to share advice, tips or experiences that other women can benefit from. All interested people can share this information by simply submitting it to the

blog.

Heather made a great stride for Created Woman Magazine by being a sponsor for the Austin Fashion Week of August 2012. Following the big event, Heather called upon BiGAUSTIN again for some advice on marketing and branding right before the launch of her magazine subscriptions. Then this past March, Heather hosted the Created Woman Magazine Charity Fashion Show in which 60% of all proceeds were given to Dress for Success, (a non-profit organization that helps provide professional attire to disadvantaged women in an effort to help them thrive). Heather explains her reasoning for hosting the show by saying, “with our love for fashion and encouraging others, we want to be sure under-resourced women have the right clothes for job interviews and reintegrating into the workforce fulfilling who they were created to be!” Heather is so thankful for BiGAUSTIN and all of their counsel over the years, “BiG has always been my support system and guidance” she states.
