Juanita Stephens is a Financial Planner in the Austin, Texas area since 2004. Her career began at IBM as a Programmer and Software Development Manager for 18 years. She successfully made the transition from corporate to entrepreneur in 1995 when she and her husband opened a bookstore, and later converted that business to an e-commerce gifts and collectibles store. In 2004 she became an Agent/Owner with Farmers Insurance and Financial Services, proudly serving all of Texas. She sold that business in 2010 and started her own firm, JStephens Wealth Management.
She considers herself an educator. Through the practice, they offer free financial literacy classes. A native Austinite, she served as a Founder and School Board Vice President for Meridian Charter School in Round Rock, TX for six years. She served as Board Chair for the Capital City African American Chamber of Commerce in Austin, TX. She is active in her church choir and Prayer Shawl Ministry.
She has been quoted in newspaper and magazine articles, including Austin Business Journal and Ujima Magazine. She conducts monthly “Wisdom & Wealth” educational seminars and has been a guest speaker at conferences such as the Executive Women in Texas Government. She was also featured on the ABC/Yahoo Remake America series.
She is a member of Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT), a global, independent association of the world's leading life insurance and financial services professionals from more than 500 companies in 70 nations and territories. MDRT members demonstrate exceptional professional knowledge, strict ethical conduct, and outstanding client service.
When asked to speak for us this was Juanita's response... "I can do this in my sleep. I'm excited! I will talk about women's empowerment and my story about 300% growth. Also, about being bold in our business and thinking like a man!"
