Contract Essentials: Small Business Edition

We are exposed to contracts in all areas of our life simply in the process of going throughout our day from agreeing to a website’s or computer program terms of service, hiring a contractor for home repairs, and even ordering a meal at a restaurant.

Whether you are an independent freelancer or a small business owner, sooner or later you will be in a situation when you will need to sign a contract with another party, be it for the provision of certain services or sale/purchase of certain goods.

Regardless of whether you require certain services to be provided to you or you are the one providing them, or whether you are buying or selling goods you need to have your interests protected.

What is a contract? A contract is a voluntary and legally binding agreement between two or more parties. A contract can be either written or verbal and the terms of the contract can be either expressed or implied.

Having basic legal knowledge is crucial if you want to protect yourself and your business when signing contracts with third parties.

This virtual workshop is intended to help you identify contract terms to which you should pay the closest attention. With this basic familiarity on top-level issues, you will be better able to assess and manage the contract-related risks associated with your business.

Topics covered:

• Learn the basic principles of contract law

• Determine how to implement and enforce contractual terms and conditions

• Understand contract dispute resolution process

• Review common contracts

Join BiGAUSTIN and Dell to learn how to harness the powerful language of the contract to benefit your small business.

Important: This course is not intended to be a comprehensive guide on contract issues and does not constitute as legal advice
